Thank God - if I can make it to Friday, I can now not get voted out while I am gone Sat-Mon afternoon! Patron Saint, Taylor was looking over me with my idol hunt. Time to step it up, bitches! Okay, I get that she's busy and has stuff going on in her personal life...but god it irks me that she has no thought whatsoever about doing anything progressive with the idol. To Nicole, it's basically just a free pass to take a round off. Gahhhhhhhh.

◦ Sam - pretty much everyone thinks she’s their number one. Even people who hadn’t met her before merge were talking about really wanting to work with her. There may come a time when everyone decides to turn on her bc she’s set up so well, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. She has the best shot to win the game right now imo. ◦ Elyse - she has some really strong bonds with people like Silas and Emily that should take her a long way. My biggest worry for her is that Sam was talking about targeting her, but I don’t know if that’s even real or not. Maybe in a world without Austin she could be an early merge target but Austin exists, so I think she’ll be fine for a while. And even after he implodes and leaves I see other people being targeted before Elyse. Hoping she finds a solid group and makes a deep run. Carley made a comment about being excited to play with Elyse again bc she actually responds and wants to talk about the game, I think this will take her a long way since there seems to be a lot less responsive people on this cast. It’s just hard to work with people who don’t talk... ◦ Jack - Austin is going to target Jack, but I don’t see Austin surviving this first merge round, so that’s pretty irrelevant. Jack’s bond with Sam will help him but he’s not even her number one and not many other people seem that excited to work with him so I worry. If Austin actually kept it together I think he’d have a decent size group to go after Jack but Austin is already pissing off every single person. I’m hoping Jack gets closer to people like Jenny, Silas and Elyse so that he will be around for a while bc I really enjoy Jack. Sad he didn’t find the merge idol... ◦ Jenny - she has really come a long way after a little bit of a rocky start on her original tribe. She lost Abby but seems to have won the highly coveted role as Sam’s number one. She can thank the people who voted off Biniam and her stellar social game for that. I think she’s set up really well but not sure who else she’s close to besides Sam. There’s Georgina but they have a kind of odd relationship. I’d like to see Jenny become more solid with a couple more people and she’ll have a great shot to win this whole thing. Sam should probably be targeted before Jenny if people don’t stay blinded by Sam. ◦ Silas - Silas is great. He and Elyse are solid and it seems like everyone else genuinely likes him. I worry a little that the Sam group could target him and Elyse, but hopefully they can hide behind bigger targets like Austin for a while. ◦ Carley - love Carley. Austin is such a prick for making her cry and telling her people hate her. No one hates Carley. People have talked about how much they genuinely liked her all game. This is the reason she keeps surviving when people decide to go after people from her original tribe like CJ and Kollyn. I hope she can stick with people like Elyse and Jenny and find her place bc she seems to feel alone right now. I think she’ll be fine though. She’s super social and likable. ◦ Emily - Elyse seems really fond of her now. I’m not sure what her activity level is but always hear people complain about her being non responsive. If that continues I feel like she’ll be out soon. ◦ Austin - merge boot. Get it together man. I get wanting to be entraining and stuff but like you’re just pissing everyone off. Stop. ◦ Waylon - He will also be gone soon. Who is this man even with? He throws every one under the bus and doesn’t seem loyal to anyone. Maybe he’s loyal to Sam, but like get in line dude. ◦ Georgina - she seems a little too paranoid and I don’t think anyone considers her their number one. Well maybe Austin who just met her, lmao. But anyways, I worry about her. Sam keeps throwing her name around. First it was bc Georgina made a comment about people not taking enough heat, that made Sam feel like she’d come for her. And now it seems she’s taking the blame for spreading that Sam has two showmances? Not sure if she actually has anything to do with that. ◦ Nicole - has the idol. Oh boy. Probably not going anywhere any time soon.

Merge +1
Austin is now gone. I wouldn’t say I was a fan, but I have to hand it to him because he really came to play. Although his gameplay was erratic and he was hoisted by his own petard, he is also heavily responsible for the demise of two of the VLs early front runners in Abby and Biniam. Austin played a huge role in the story of the season and we were lucky to watch him navigate his first game.
Here are my thoughts on the top 10! Viewing this game is so much fun and I am loving how things are playing out.
Sam - I have to stan this amazing player. I was so skeptical and even hoped she would be voted out in a spectacular fashion early on but boy have I shifted my position on Sam. She has everyone wrapped around her finger and I’m even misted as a viewer. The way she called out Austin and navigated his response to her not falling for his BS that has gotten him through the game so far, just made me even more of a fan. Also to see the raw emotion Sam exhibited in her confessional following tribal council was so endearing. I just can’t wait to see her play the rest of this game and would be more than thrilled with a Sam win. Get the check ready.
Jenny - I love Jenny so much and I’m so proud of how she has continued to improve her position in the game. She has surpassed her rival Georgina in gameplay and relationships. I say rival even though Jenny doesn’t realize they are rivals. Maybe frenemy is a more accurate term. There does seem to be a piece missing to Jenny’s game and I can’t put my finger on it. She has some strong relationships but I almost feel like she is not as into the game as some others are. The hunger for the win is what separates Jenny from players like Sam, Jack, and Silas in my eyes. There is still a lot of game to be played and I’m so glad Jenny is still here to play it. Also she still has an idol and I know from personal conversation that she really wants to do something cool with it if the opportunity arises.
Jack - He is so easy to root for! Jack is the quiet hero of this game and the way he talks about his strategy, kicks himself for mistakes, and is constantly thinking he’s in trouble is so relatable to me. Jack is emerging as a real contender in the VL but I’m not sure if the other players see him as much more than a challenge threat - which could be to his demise as the individual immunity portion of the game progresses.
Silas - He should be in a great position as the bridge between the two emerging sides due to his relationships with Elyse and Nicole on one side and Sam/OG Razu on the other. Unfortunately, Sam’s pregame relationship with Elyse hurts Silas as she has now leapfrogged over him on Sam’s priority list. I love Silas and really hope he can maneuver his way through this merge tribe to make it really deep into the game.
Georgina - She had a major oopsie starting rumors that circled back to the most connected player in the game. I think her time zone will really hinder her in this phase of the game as it will not be difficult to gather votes against her. She seems to be a few steps behind others as relationships are cultivated in the merge.
Carley - This Phoenix keeps rising little by little. She has been close to elimination and left out of votes but she has continued to improve her position each round. I can see her fall under the radar as bigger target emerge in the next few rounds. I think it will be tough for Carley to get jury recognition based on the tribe dynamics as they stand now.
Elyse - I want to love Elyse and have been a fan - but how does she not come for Sam??? I get that personal friendship comes into play, but vote your friend out and buy her a drink with your $1000! Elyse is in a great position and can do some damage as the true information bridge between the two sides.
Nicole - has an idol. Will be out of town this weekend and will just play her idol to make sure she’s not voted out. I can’t find winner potential there so it will be interesting to see how her story plays out.
Emily - I love that she is not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for other people. She earned some points with Sam in this last tribal council by sticking up for her and we love the powerful women. I’m not sure, though, if we even know how her priorities align? I don’t think Emily is in imminent danger but she will need to play harder if she wants a shot with this group.
Waylon - He is so messy but doesn’t realize it. Waylon will likely be voted out VERY soon as he does not have a strong grasp on how he is perceived by others on the tribe. He has definitely come a long way, though, since his night 1 disappearance.
